Duggar Update: '19KAC' Reboot To Chronicle Jim Bob And Michelle's Divorce Because Of Josh?
It it undeniable that Josh Duggar's molestation and Ashley Madison cheating scandal has taken its toll on the family's reputation. And according to the latest update, the scandals could also caused a significant damage in Jim Bob and Michelle's marriage.
According to a rumor update, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar almost split because of the difference in their view on how to handle Josh Duggar's mistakes. Apparently, the "19 Kids and Counting" patriarch would wanted to punish Josh, but his mother doesn't agree.
"Michelle thought it was so harsh, she was willing to defy her husband and take Josh away from the area," a source reportedly told In Touch, as quoted by Hollywood Life.
"She spoke at length with family and friends and said she was willing to DEFY Jim Bob if it meant protecting her son. It caused a great deal of friction between Jim Bob and Michelle and could well have destroyed their marriage if Michelle had taken Josh away," the insider added.
"In the end, Jim Bob was able to convince Michelle it was for the best and she allowed the punishment to be carried out."
Rumors about Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's purported marriage problems arose amid speculations that "19 Kids and Counting" will have a reboot in TLC.
Previous reports said TLC is purportedly in talks with the Duggar family about the possibility of a "19 Kids and Counting" reboot.
"Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager talked about the Duggars earlier this week while serving on a Television Critics Association panel," Star Pulse wrote in a news update.
"She explained that while the network had 'challenges' with the Josh Duggar situation, the audience 'still cares' about the girls, so they are 'still talking, about future episodes," the update continued.
Last month, TLC premiered a spinoff show focused on two of Josh Duggar's sisters and molestation victims, Jill and Jessa Duggar, titled "Jill and Jessa: Counting On."
According to a report, "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" did well in ratings, prompting TLC to realize that viewers still cared about the family even after Josh Duggar's scandals.
"The network already copped to the fact the decision to cancel '19 Kids and Counting' cost them about 19 million during its second quarter," Huffington Post previously reported in a news update.
"Because of that kind of loss, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the network hasn't cut ties with the family and is apparently considering to work with them again."
Fans continue to monitor updates about Josh as he undergo treatment in a "faith-based" facility in Colorado.
