'John Wick 2' Filming Resumes In Rome; Ruby Rose Shares Her Workout Regimen For Film

Keanu Reeves resumes filming for "John Wick 2."

Production for the highly-anticipated sequel to 2014's neo-noir action thriller began wrapping up in New York in December. Now, sources are reporting that filming has resumed in Rome, Italy, which hints that there may be international assassins involved in the new film.

According to the Daily Mail, the "Knock Knock " actor was recently seen filming sequences outside a large art gallery in the cultural capital.

Italy is fast becoming a popular international filming location since the government increased the country's filming incentives. According to KFTV, the upcoming remake of "Ben-Hur" became that largest international movie in years to shoot entirely in Intaly. Filming for the remake took place in Cinecitta Studios near Rome, which has 22 sound stages and a large water facility for undewater scenes.

Meanwhile, cast member Ruby Rose has been hitting the gym to prepare for her role in "John Wick 2."

The 29-year-old actress recently shared a photo of her workout regimen, which evidently involves a lot of weightlifting. This could hint that she could be involved in some fighting sequences, although her role in the film is yet to be revealed.

Apart from Reeves and Rose, "John Wick 2" also stars Common ("Run All Night"), Ian McShane ("Snow White and the Huntsman"), Briget Moynahan ("Blue Bloods"), Laurence Fishburne ("Man of Steel"), John Leguziamo ("American Ultra"), Lance Reddick ("Faults"), Peter Stormare ("Prison Break") and Riccardo Scamarcio ("Burnt").

Not much is known about the film's plot, although Reeves has previously mentioned that it will open a new chapter in the "Continental" underworld.

The first film centers on the titular character, a retired assasin forced to return to his violent ways after his former employers assault him and kill his dog. The movie made $14.1 million on its opening weekend and eventually earned $43 million in the world box office.

Stay tuned for more on "John Wick 2's" filming as updates become availalble.
