Johnny Nelson has some words for Amir Khan who still don't have an opponent for next fight

Will Kell Brook be the opponent for Amir Khan's next fight?

Latest news reports claimed that while the undefeated British boxer wants to slug it out with Freddie Roach's former pupil, Amir Khan is reportedly making excuses to dodge Kell Brook.

Former cruiserweight world champion Johnny Nelson thought Brook should just give up on Khan.

"Kell Brook needs to forget about Amir Khan," Nelson said to IFL TV. "Amir Khan does not want to fight. What Amir Khan is doing is putting himself in a position where he's going to play hard to get because Kell's chasing after him."

He added, "Kell needs to say 'No, forget that.' He'll [Khan] not fight Danny Garcia, trust me. The fight won't happen. His options are Danny Garcia or Kell Brook unless he picks somebody else and tries to justify picking somebody else. Stop paying attention. Stop chasing after him."

A news report published a couple of days ago, Kell Brook stated how badly he wants to be in Amir Khan's next fight but he thinks his fellow British boxer is afraid of what he can do.

"He (Khan) has no respect for me - he never has, and that's why I want to punch him in the face. Everyone in the world wants to see us two fight," he said, as per report by Sky Sports. "It would kill him to lose to me - I'd put him on his a***. I've been training since November - we are ahead of schedule and I can't wait to get back in there."

Amir Khan's last boxing fight was in April last year against Chris Algieri. He won the match and stated right on the stage that he wants to fight a big fish, either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao.

However, neither of the two took him up on his challenge.

After being vacant for almost a year, World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman said Amir Khan's next fight should be a mandatory match with Danny Garcia, who beat him back in 2012.

"It was a tremendous fight for the WBC championship. Now we have a champion and it's going to be a great year to come," Sulaiman said as per news report by Boxing Scene. "Amir Khan is the mandatory contender, he is next for Danny Garcia and they must fight by June."
