2016 Ford Focus RS: Is This The Best Hatchback In The Market?

Many analysts consider the 2016 Ford Focus RS as one of the best hatchback car that is currently out in the market. The car is fast, has a refined handling and very easy to use. The said car model has already made its debut in the European market where it was widely hailed.

Now, the Ford hatchback is finally making its way to the American market.

Compared to most of its contemporaries which usually boasts top-end electronics and high-tech gizmos, the 2016 Ford Focus RS has one secret weapon that puts it on top of everybody else. The hatchback has a mode that allows it to easily drift on command. Car critics who have tested it commended the mode for its ease of use.

The said Ford car model has a newly integrated Drift Mode which electronically transfers more power to the cars back wheels. At the same time, it also softens the dampers and the steering in order to assist the driver in drifting the car.

Unlike other cars with complicated controls that takes days, or even weeks, to master. The 2016 Ford Focus RS only has a single Drift Mode button and once pressed, the car's sophisticated electronic system takes care of everything.

"Obviously, in Drift Mode, you get as much torque to the rear as possible while the dampers and the steering goes soft for those ultimate Ken Block Moments. They make it really easy nowadays," said Jalopnik's Máté Petrány.

According to Driving, the 2016 Ford Focus hatchback has a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The engine is built at Ford's plant located in Valencia, Spain. The engine is capable of outputting up to 345 horsepower and 325 point-foot worth of torque. In terms of acceleration, the hatchback can go from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
