'What We Do In The Shadows' Sequel Gets A Witty Title; Plot Based On Werewolves

Producers have announced a sequel to Taika Waititi's "What We Do In The Shadows."

Last year's film about a group of vampires who live together enjoyed widespread critical success and raked in $6.9 million at the box office. Now, Independent reports that Waititi along with "Flight of the Conchords'" Jermaine Clement are developing a sequel to their hit mockumentary.

For several months rumors have spread that the sequel would be titled "What We Do in the Moonlight," however,  Waititi recently confirmed with Crave Online that the follow-up will be called,"We're Wolves."

"Jermaine [Clement] and I are trying to write a werewolves spin-off," Waititi explained. "It's going to be called 'We're Wolves,' like 'We are wolves.' 'We're Wolves.'"

The 40-year-old is set to direct the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok." He confirmed that "We're Wolves" will most likely be his next project after he wraps up with the god of thunder's third movie.

Production for the Marvel tentpole film commences this June, working towards a Nov. 3, 2017 release. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Cate Blanchett and Tom Hiddleston.

On the horizon, he slated to direct a World War II comedy "about a kid in the Hitler Youth," though he didn't elaborate further about its plot.

Waititi's latest outing, "The Hunt For Wilderpeople," which debuted at Sundance over the weekend, is already garnering positive reviews.

According to Deadline, the movie is about "a national manhunt that is ordered when a rebellious kid and his foster uncle go missing in the wild New Zealand bush." It stars Sam Neill, Rhys Darby, Julian Dennison and Rachel House.

Producers have yet to announce a specific release date for "We're Wolves."

Stay tuned for more news on the "What We Do In The Shadows" sequel as updates become available.
