'Wayward Pines' Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date: Ben Wakes Up After Three Years

Fox Broadcasting Company has renewed "Wayward Pines," which means fans will see season 2 anytime soon. 

According to new reports, Ben Burke, played by 19-year-old Charlie Tahan, will be waking up after three years and will be discovering new faces and dangerous people in "Wayward Pines."

Ethan Burke. played by Matt Dilon. has died in the season 1 of "Wayward Pines" along with a number of other characters. Variety reported that Ethan's son, who was knocked out in the first season, Ben, will be saving the innocent people in the next season of the show.

"The new season will pick up where the first left off when a new arrival in Wayward Pines finds himself in the middle of a serious rebellion, as the residents battle over how to preserve the endangered human race," Variety reported.

David Madden, president of Fox Broadcasting Company, said that they were glad about the show's success last summer.

"'Wayward Pines' was a huge hit for us this past summer. We were absolutely blown away by the mysterious and surprising world that Night and his team created, and the twisting-and-turning storytelling that drew viewers in from day one," Madden told Fox. "Season Two is going to take the suspense, the vision of the future and the haunting character drama to whole new levels, and we can't wait for our fans to continue that ride next year."

"Wayward Pines" is the story of a secret service agent who goes to a city named Wayward Pines, Idaho to find two federal agents who were missing in the mysterious town only to find himself trapped in the same place.
