'Thor 3 Ragnarok' Director Reveals Plot Will Be Funnier; Film To Feature More Jokes
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi recently revealed his formula on how to make the upcoming plot of the movie even funnier than the last one - it is to add more jokes.
"I'll take the second film and just add some joke to that," Waititi said to Jeff Sneider of TheWrap during the Sundance Film Festival where his film "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" is being screened.
In previous interviews, Chris Hemsworth talked of how eager he is to reprise his role as the titular Thor in the upcoming installment of the franchise. The actor said he believes that the new director is up for the job of directing the film.
He added that Waititi should be able to deliver an even better successor to the first two.
"I think (Thor 3 Ragnarok) needs to be injected with that sort of smart wit and unexpected kind of humor, kind of what James Gunn came in and did with 'Guardians' (of the Galaxy)," the actor said in in an interview, as shared by Cinema Blend.
"It was like off center and unpredictable, and I think we can definitely use a dose of that, you know?"
It seems that the director has heard the sentiments of Hemsworth and is adamant to take the reins of the next film. Waititi's plan is to recreate "Thor: The Dark World" and then infuse it with his own brand of humor.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays the green hero Hulk, is positive that the onscreen chemistry of his character and Thor is a recipe for lots of humor.
The official "Thor 3: Ragnarok" plot is still a big mystery but with Thor and Hulk together in the upcoming film, fans are sure to be treated to lots of action as well as sufficient dose of comedy on the side.
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" is slated to be released on Nov. 3, 2017. With the plot still a mystery, the cast members also remain a secret a handful have been confirmed.
One of the most rumored addition to the actors joining the film is Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, who is rumored to play the role of the main villain.
