'Green Lantern' Movie: Actor Dan Amboyer To Play Pilot In 'Batman V Superman'; Hal Jordan To Be Introduced In Film?

"Batman V Superman," the highly-anticipated sequel to 2013's "Man of Steel" will not only pit two of DC's biggest heroes against each other, but it will also introduce several members of the Justice League. However, Green Lantern, who is still without an actor to play the character in the movie, has been the center of casting rumors.

According to a Reddit leak about "Batman V Superman," an actor has already been cast to play the Green Lantern in the movie. The user who reportedly attended a test screening of the film claims that actor Dan Amboyer will take on the role of the ring-slinger in DC's Extended Universe.

Fans probably won't recognize his name, but Amboyer's lengthy resume states that he's earned his fair share of success. The actor has sixteen screen roles under his belt, albeit the majority of them are small, one-off roles. His best known role was playing Prince William in Hallmark's "William and Catherine: A Royale Romance."

Additional reports claim that Amboyer is officially listed in the cast of "Batman V Superman" as a "Drone Pilot," set to fight alongside Superman at one point in the film. Of course, this fueled rumors even more since Hal Jordan was an aircraft pilot before he turned into the Green Lantern.

For those unfamiliar, Hal Jordan is a test pilot who was chosen by Green Lantern Corps member Abin Sur whose ship crashed on Earth. Knowing he won't survive the crash, Abin Sur sought for an individual worthy of his power ring, someone who was "utterly honest and born without fear." The ring ends up with Jordan, and along with it its powers.

However, Hal Jordan won't be the only Green Lantern to appear in the 2020 solo movie. According to Science Fiction, DC has officially titled the upcoming movie "Green Lantern Corps," which means that it will feature several members of the intergalactic Green Lantern army.
