‘Star Wars: Episode 8’ Rumors: Release Delay A Good Thing? Plot Involves 2 New Female Roles?
Latest "Star Wars: Episode 8" rumors claimed that the delay in the anticipated release date of the movie would actually be a good thing especially that some plot adjustments are expected to happen like the inclusion of two new female characters.
Dean James of the Attack of the Fanboy hinted that the postponement of the movie's May 2017 premiere could mean several benefits for the team.
Since several rumors revealed that the release of the newest instalment of the George Lucas original film has been moved to December 2017, the writer pointed out that "this delay can be nothing but good for 'Star Wars: Episode 8.'"
Considering that its script is reportedly undergoing some rewrites, it surely needs enough time to make such changes.
"However, supposedly these rewrites are to make the cast from The Force Awakens the main leads again, while any other new major role would be smaller," the article noted. "This sounds like it could lead to many changes in the script, which could still take awhile to finish up with the rewrites."
Furthermore, with Rian Johnson as the new director who is taking over in the execution of "Star Wars: Episode 8" plot, "it is also good to have extra time as a learning curve for him to get acclimated to a series as big as 'Star Wars.'"
It was also noted that with the schedule being pushed back, the team would have ample time to develop "incredible" special effects, "Rather than going to the almost fully CGI route we saw in the prequels."
And by having a release date of December, "Star Wars: Episode 8 will be able "to continue with what should be a Christmas tradition."
On the other hand, Jeff Sneider of The Wrap divulged that the two young female roles, under the new plot of "Star Wars: Episode 8," will already be "smaller," according to Cinema Blend.
