Xbox One Update 2016 Goes Live For Preview Members; Improves Live TV, Quick Guide
The first Xbox One update for this year goes live for preview members. According to Attack of the Fanboy, it is now available for download and brings minor fixes.
First, players may no longer encounter black or no signal error when launching the Live TV app after reconnecting from connected standby mode either from USB TV or HDMI.
Meanwhile, the other fixes Quick Guide's failure to launch when Xbox button was double pressed or navigating on the left side of the dashboard.
Upcoming updates are said to add new features and improve gaming experience, but this month Xbox developers are focused on improving social features, according to Xbox's Program Management Director Myke Ybarra in a recent blogpost.
He highlighted that it will keep players connected on Xbox Live Community across PC and consoles, PC Mag reported.
For this month, preview members will now be able to see who's on the party chat before joining as a "Chat" button appears on friends' profile that allows other players see who else they're playing with.
Along with its better social features, activity feed notifies players of new items on the feed, while Twitch.tv can be launched through Game Hub and game tiles.
Also, Gamers Leaders board has been revamped for players to see their standings relative to their friends in which they can compare game scores.
As for Xbox One players' requests, pins can be rearranged individually. With the update, some pins were also made available to launch even if players are offline, while hiding content like betas, trials, games and apps that players no longer want to install has been enabled again.
Additionally, Suggested Friends are filtered by gamertag, real name (if shared), gamerpic or Xbox Avatar image and the reason the suggestion was made.
With that being said, players can easily recognize people they may know as full profile can be accessible too.
Mike Ybarra also listed the upcoming features for future Xbox One update for preview members. The list can be found here.
