The DOTA 2 Patch 6.85 Release Just Happened; In-Game Changes Discussed!
Valve, the developer behind the worldwide popular computer game Defense of the Ancients (DOTA), has released DOTA 2 patch 6.85 ahead of the Fall Major Tournament. However, they also announced that an even bigger patch is set for release after the Frankfurt Showdown in November.
The new DOTA 2 patch 6.85 contains hero updates and changes as well as improvement on items. A particular change is that Siege Creeps now behave like normal lane creeps and are targetable by spells despite of its 80% spell resistance. The patch also indicates that Valve is improving on DOTA 2's gaming experience with jungle play, with resurrection of heroes like Chen and Enchantress possible. It also means that the buff to siege creeps will lead gamers to more pushing, as opposed to all-out team fights from the get-go.
Other effects of DOTA 2 patch 6.85 include summoned units now immune to being purged, and as reported by PC Gamer, this means Warlock's Golems can no longer be countered by a Diffusal Blade and neither Necronomicon units can do further damage. The in-game shop also appears to conduct a sale as a number of recipes and items have been reduced in price by up to 25%.
Lazy Gamer also reports on changes to hero's skills such as Batrider, Chaos Knight, Chen, Enchantress, Jakiro, and other characters. An example is that Chaos Knight can now reduce the target's armor power by 5 for 8 seconds every time it crits, and that his critical damage has been reduced from 150-300% to 125-275%.
With the release of DOTA 2 patch 6.85, the game seems to shift obviously into a push-oriented game play with emphasis of buffs to its heroes such as Nature's Prophet, Chen, and Enchantress. Valve released more information about the new patch on their official blog. Now every gamer will have enough time to prepare for the major tournament this fall.
