Beowulf TV Spoilers: Extended Trailer Video Released; Will Beowulf Succeed On His Mission In Helping Rheda?

James Dormer's British epic fantasy drama TV series "Beowulf," which was based on a poem of the same name, has just started airing on the first week of January this year. After it premiered, limited spoilers about the series immediately made rounds in the social media.

The 13-episode series is a recreation of an old english poem of the same name, but will come into view with several plotlines added and new characters.

It was first aired in the United Kingdom and was premiered in the United States on January 23 alongside an extended trailer released by the Esquire Network on YouTube.

Besides making it possible on a TV series form, "Beowulf" first came into view in 2007 after an animated movie based from the poem was produced by Shangri-La Entertainment and Paramount Pictures.

"Beowulf" TV series titled Return to the Shieldlands begins with Kieran Bew as Beowulf, who arrives at Heorot, only to find out out that Hrothgar, the man who took care of him after his father died has passed away.

As shown in the extended trailer, Beowulf was seen looking for Hrothgar, who was killed by an unknown creature. In the midde of the video, Beowulf promises to find his father's murderer and kill him with his own hands.

Besides the unhuman creature shown in the trailer, it looks like Beowulf is not just dealing with one enemy. The 2-minute video flaunted plenty of battle scenes, making the fans more thrilled about what might be in store in the succeeding episodes of the fantasy series.

Following the first episode, there have been several reactions making rounds in the headlines, with some noting that the series looks alike with the popular fantasy series "Game of Thrones." Adding to the spoilers, it has been speculated that Kieran Bew's character is more than what the fans are expecting to see in the next episodes.

As quoted by Digital Spy, "If you've ever watched Game of Thrones and thought, 'Gosh, my elderly mum/ kids/ prudish pal would love this, if it weren't for all the gore and shagging, the ITV's more family-friendly fantasy epic Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands should be essential Sunday night viewing.

The fourth episode of "Beowulf" has just been aired over the weekend, wherein Beowulf and his men are set on a mission to help Rheda, played by Joanne Whalley, get her position as Jarl of the Shieldlands.

To make it, they must go through a journey across the land, however, they are ambushed along the way and currently putting the mission at risk. "Beowulf" airs every Sunday at 7 PM on ITV.
