NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics' David Lee To May Find New Home With Toronto Raptors?

Previous NBA trade rumors pitched that David Lee of Boston Celtics might be shipped to another team but there was no mention as to which group he would be transferring.

But Basketball Insiders have a suggestion as to where the NBA champion should go.

Reportedly, Lee is a serviceable big man who will surely fill the void in Toronto. However, the Canadian team cannot get him unless they release another player with a long and expensive contract.

"One of the teams that continues to be mentioned as a possibility for Lee at the deadline is the Toronto Raptors," Basketball Insiders wrote.

"However, making the cap math work would be complicated unless a third team that's willing to take on one of Toronto's longer deals gets involved."

It also said that Lee is more likely to be released before the NBA trade deadline.

"The Celtics have been on a skid as of late and have been actively looking at deals where they could liquidate some of their duplication or trade up in the talent department, and Lee is one of the guys they are expected to try to move at the deadline."

David Lee got tangled up in NBA trade rumors in December after reports claimed he is unhappy of his limited minutes with Celtics. The former All-Star is just coming off a championship with Golden State Warriors and he thought he will get significant playing time with a young Celtics franchise.

"The Celtics have been very solid, but Coach Brad Stevens has a minutes problem, as evidenced by the lack of time for David Lee-whose expiring contract is available, per league sources," NBA.com's Anderson said.

If ever gets traded, Lee will be welcomed by his fourth team since entering the league in 2005.

The Toronto Raptors have been embroiled in many NBA trade rumors discussions, particularly their star DeMar Derozan. The shooting guard is being linked to Los Angeles Lakers although reports are still immature.
