‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ DLC Update: Game Dev Shoots Down Tatooine Map Inclusion Rumors
EA and DICE are yet to finally reveal details of "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC update for the month of January.
But before the official announcement of the DLC, Lead lighting artist Oscar Carlen already shoot down some of its rumored contents in a Twitter conversation between him and a player.
Allegedly, Tatooine map will be featured on the January update as it was being leaked in a gameplay footage on Youtube.
"There were some misinformation so it was taken down. It is still a great patch, I don't think you will be disappointed," Carlen tweeted.
"Sorry, but the January update does not contain a new map. I am still polishing the new maps."
He added that the maps he was referring to were for both upcoming paid and the free content, Express UK reported.
So far, "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC contents are still unknown. But according to video from EA Brasil, that was already taken down as of this writing, it suggests that this might include Luke and Leia's new costumes, private matches, daily challenges and special community events, Gamespot reported.
Speaking of community events, the first "Star Wars: Battlefront" event was successful for acquiring 500,000 hours target game time of playing as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, Gotta Be Mobile reported.
The said event has reached over 1.2 million hours game time across Xbox One, PC and PS4.
On the other hand, players may expect a "special reward that directly ties to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker," Gotta Be Mobile added.
Last year, players received free "Battle of Jakku" update inspired by the "The Force Awaken" film. It has brought a map set on Jakku and a 40-Turning Point mode, according to Gamespot.
In addition, four paid extension packs were released too.
Reportedly, "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC January update arrives by the end of the month. Stay tuned for its official release.
