The Korea Tourism Organization launches 30 new bicycle routes for their new project wherein the newly-constructed routes along Han River will be part of "Beautiful Travel Routes on Bicycle" list.

Han River is a major river in the country that stretches from South Korea's capital city, Seoul. Reports reveal that the bicycle route that runs in Han River "has no upward slopes and is wide, making it a fairly leisurely cycling path."

Cyclists will not just enjoy the beautiful scenery as they journey along the way, but will also take pleasure in having to choose from varieties of restaurants and culture centers located nearby.

KTO noted on September 18 that the bicycle paths that run along Han River, Nakdong River, Geumgang River and Yeongsangang River covers 1,757 kilometers across South Korea.

According to reports, the new routes are said to be safe for cyclists as it also features a number of convenience facilities such as camp sites. Aside from that, shops are also visible nearby wherein bicycles and safety gears can be leased by visitors at cheap prices.

"The selections aren't just for simple riding, but they are more like travel trails that are filled with a variety of tourism content such as scenery, food and local culture," says Lee Sang Gi, Korea Tourism Organization's leisure, sports and tourism manager.

"By promoting such bicycle trails, we expect people to get to know these available routes better and make better use of them."

People are also encouraged by the KTO to use the hashtag #Ajagil on Instagram to show their support on "Beautiful Travel Routes on Bicycle" list until November 22. Ajagil is the name of the organization's project. Selected participants will be given the chance to receive prices such as bicycle, video camera and Polaroid camera, as reported by Korea Joongang Daily on Thursday.
