Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Out To Win More Fans, As “Halo: Reach” Update Released
Microsoft's Xbox One backwards compatibility feature is turning out to be more fan-friendly than many have expected.
A case in point is the possibility that fan favorite "Brutal Legend" will be included in the line-up of soon-to-be released backwards compatible games, according to Product Reviews.
The probable inclusion of the Xbox 360 action-adventure strategy game was teased by Tim Schafer, founder of Double Fine Productions, who just might have spilled the beans on the proposal.
Through his Twitter account, Schafer responded to a query from a fan who wanted to know if the gaming publisher had plans of making "Brutal Legend" playable on the next-generation gaming console.
"I think it would be cool too," he tweeted.
Schafer may be taking his cue from Microsoft which declared that any Xbox 360 game can be added to the list of titles which can be played using the Xbox One backwards compatibility update.
Released in 2009, "Brutal Legends" featured comedy actor Jack Black as the voice of the game's main character Eddie Riggs.
In the meantime, Microsoft is working hard to ensure that all of the Xbox One backwards compatible games that it has released since the update's roll-out are working seamlessly, reported Gear Nuke.
The company has recently released an update which was designed to address problems associated with "Halo: Reach's" gameplay.
The new Xbox One backwards compatibility update's file size is 732 MB, which is quite large for an Xbox 360 game.
Although there are no patch notes included in the latest update, players have observed improvements in the performance and visuals of the game, which include better anti-aliasing and improved frame rate.
The release of "Halo: Reach" completes the "Halo" game collection which can now all be played on the Xbox One.
Microsoft released the Xbox One backwards compatibility update November of last year, which included an initial list of about 100 Xbox 360 playable games.
