'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: EP Dishes On Mysterious Grave; New Female Supervillain

This year's return of "Arrow" was a success ratings-wise, and spoilers promise more excitement ahead for season 4 of the hit television series.

Felicity Smoak's fate is one of the biggest mysteries during the winter break of "Arrow" season 4. She and boyfriend Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) was attacked by the followers of main villain Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

Oliver survived but Felicity Smoak was left bathing on her own blood from multiple gunshot wounds.

But "Arrow" season 4 spoilers reveal that Felicity would survive the attack, which prompts the question: Who is the character lying six feet below?

Executive producer Wendy Mericle said the "grave mystery" is the main plot this season and they are not keen on giving it away soon.

"A couple of things. It's keeping it alive and, in a lot of ways, reminding the audience that these are the stakes this season," she said in an interview with Comic Book Resources.

Although Felicity survived the gun attack, she will still suffer the consequences psychologically.

"Also, we've been through a big tragedy in 409 with Felicity. We felt it was important to see the evolution of her. This loss that we're going to experience in the future puts her in a dark place as well," the EP added.

More "Arrow" season 4 spoilers reveal that there's going to be a new female supervillain on the loose in the form of Damien Darhk's wife.

It was revealed in the last episode that she's in cahoots with her husband. Mericle said that Janet Kidder's character is being groomed as some sort of "female supervillain" in the show.

"Truth be told, we wanted to do a female supervillain, and she's a version of that," she told CBR. "She's just as crazy as he is. She has her own drive. She's very Lady Macbeth in the way that she's goading him. We like that she has an agenda of her own. It's the same as Darhk's, but it can diverge in terms of the means to get to the end. She thinks he should have killed Green Arrow."
