NBA Trade Rumors: Cavs Letting Go Of Kevin Love Or Coach David Blatt?
Kevin Love is under fire due to his recent performances and the scrutiny got even more intense after what he said after their recent loss to the Golden State Warriors. Now, his name is being pitched in circulating NBA trade rumors involving the Cavs.
According to reports, the 2011 Most Improved Player and coach David Blatt are currently being monitored by the management. It was David Blatt's who took the blame for their recent loss to the Warriors in their own home court.
Per ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, it is either Love or Blatt's head in order for the Cavs to move to the right direction.
"I'm telling you what was said to me in the arena last night, whether it was by fans, whether it was by other folks that are officials for both respective teams, or whether it was coaches literally texting me on my phone - because you know Ii get my text messages - they were literally saying, 'it's coming down to one or two scenarios," he said.
He even added more to the ongoing NBA trade rumors saying that the Cavs need to have someone "who can play both sides of the ball."
"Either David Blatt is going to have to go, and you're going to have to get somebody in here who could coach on this level against these NBA coaches, meaning being familiar with what they do and how to combat it, or you're going to have to get rid of Kevin Love and get somebody in here that can play on both sides of the ball.' you're going to have to do one or the other if you're David Griffin, Dan Gilbert, and the Cleveland Cavaliers."
The NBA trade deadline will close soon and among the teams expected to make a move is the Cavs. They are currently sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference but the loss to the Warriors is something fans see as a knock to their game.
Stats-wise, Love is the second best player in the team next to Lebron James as he averages 15.6 points per outing which comes with 10.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Critics are not convinced though that he fits Cavs' system.
