Bob Arum: Timothy Bradley Has Nothing To Lose In Fight With Manny Pacquiao

Many boxing fans think that in the Manny Pacquiao - Timothy Bradley fight this April, the former is the underdog. Notably, the American fighter waited for Pacman's selection and he stands to earn less from the bout.

But the standing may pose some benefit to Bradley.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum said Bradley has nothing to lose and a lot to gain in his fight with Pacman. Pacquiao comes from a loss as he was defeated by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in what was called "Fight of the Century."

"If he loses, life goes on. It's not the end of the world," said Arum, according to a report by Inquirer. "But if he wins, it will enhance his legacy and boost his marketability."

The April fight is supposed to be the last for Pacman, who in his latest interviews, reiterated his desire to hang the gloves. Accordingly, he will focus on his political career.

However, during the same interview, Arum insisted that people can still expect a change of heart from the eight-division world champion.

"If he retires, he retires," said Arum. "In boxing, retirement isn't cast in stone. That's why I don't want to sell it (Pacquiao-Bradley III) as his farewell fight. Maybe he will (comeback), maybe he will not."

Even Timothy Bradley is not sold to the idea that Manny Pacquiao's next fight will be his last.

"I don't think it's his last fight," Bradley said in a report by Spin.ph a couple of days ago. "But it all depends on the result. It's not my last fight, it's not mine."

The Manny Pacquiao - Timothy Bradley fight will be the third time that the two will slug it out in the boxing ring. The first one was in 2012 where Bradley won via a controversial decision. A rematch was then held in 2014 and proclaimed Pacman as the winner.
