Mary Kate, Ashley Olsen Dissed By 'Fuller House' Producers? Statement Released!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen dissed by "Fuller House" producers?

If you're an avid fan of "Full House," even with its absence for over a decade, then you would know that its spin-off, "Fuller House," won't include two popular cast members - Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

As previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not appear in "Fuller House" due to scheduling reasons and, well, because they're reportedly "uncomfortable" with the idea of reprising their role as Michelle Tanner.

"Ashley said, 'I have not been in front of a camera since I was 17 and I don't feel comfortable acting,'" Bob Boyett, "Fuller House" producer, told People Magazine. "Mary-Kate said, 'It would have to be me because Ash doesn't want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us.'"

Since neither Mary-Kate nor Ashley are willing to play the role of Michelle Tanner in the spin-off, "Fuller House" producers have decided to explain her absence in the first episode of the show.

According to The L.A. Times, the audience will learn that Michelle Tanner is busy running a fashion empire in New York and is therefore unable to reunite with the rest of the family - kind of like the Olsen twins, who are running their clothing lines "The Row" and "Elizabeth and James" in the Big Apple.

But the producers beg of one thing with the absence of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in "Fuller House" - don't take it the wrong way.

"It wasn't meant to be a dig, it was meant to be playful," show producer Jeff Franklin said of Michelle Tanner's absence in the show.

"We tried to persuade them to come and play," Franklin added. "They decided not to at the same time. We're hopeful that at some time in the future they might change their minds and reprise Michelle. We only need one of them. We still love them, and the door is always open."

"Fuller House" is set to premiere Feb. 26 on Netflix. Joining the series reboot will be original cast members like John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber and more.
