Amid Cancelled 'Silent Hills' Release Date Hideo Kojima And Guillermo Del Toro Confirm New Project
Horror fanatics and video gamers alike had their hearts drop to the floor when they heard the disheartening news that the release date (and overall project) of "Silent Hills" has finally been cancelled by its developers.
Despite the saddening news about the titular game's fate, gamers can still look forward to a new project between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro as the latter confirmed that they are working on together, courtesy of IGN.
"We were in the planning stages, and it's a shame it's not going to happen," Guillermo explained. "We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head."
"One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that."
It was reported that the much-anticipated horror game from acclaimed game creator Hideo Kojima ("Metal Gear Solid" franchise) and renowned film director Guillermo del Toro ("Hellboy" film franchise and the movie "Pacific Rim") has been cancelled, International Business Times claimed.
"Konami is committed to new 'Silent Hills' titles, however the embryonic 'Silent Hills' project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued," the well-known gaming developer Konami said in an issued statement.
"In terms of Kojima and del Toro being involved, discussion on future 'Silent Hill' projects are currently underway, and please stay tuned for further announcements."
The rumors surrounding the cancellation of the release date for the "Silent Hills" project was further confirmed when acclaimed film director del Toro commented it's uneventful outcome.

In an interview with del Toro, the filmmaker commented on the cancellation of the "Silent Hills" project with Hideo Kojima and its release date, saying that Konami's decision "did not make any sense," Polygon reported.
"Makes no f---ing sense at all," del Toro exclaimed. "The thing with Kojima and 'Silent Hills' is that I thought we would do a really remarkable game and really go for the jugular... makes no f---ing sense at all that the game is not happening."
