Fans are eagerly waiting for the release of Backstreet Boys' new album, which could be hitting the record stands this 2016.

There were a ton of news that popped up around the internet revealing the latest endeavors of the 90s iconic pop group BackStreet Boys in making a new album, which prompted fans to go on Twitter and rave all about it.

"Asked @therealjguts for some breaking news and here is what he delivered: @backstreetboys recording a new album. Set to release later in 2016," Backstreet Boys retweeted Ken Rosenthal's post over at their official Twitter page.

"We cannot wait for this new album. I've missed new songs," a fan by the username @ilysmbsb replied to @Ken_Rosenthal @backstreetboys @TheRealJGuts over at Twitter.

In a recent interview, Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean elaborated that their new album, which his going to be released sometime this 2016, will be "bringing that sex appeal back."

"We've done the love song thing," the BackStreet Boy said as reported by Celeb Buzz. "We're all married, we're all grown men, so it's time that we push the envelope a little bit and bring that sex appeal back."

The first news about Backstreet Boys recording a new album due out in less than a year came as no secret after boyband members Nick, Kevin, AJ, Howie and Brian went on to their respective social media accounts via Twitter and Instagram to post snapshots of them in the studios, 2 Day FM reported.

Moreover, the source noted that the 90s iconic boy band is collaborating with Jacob Kasher, who has written and produced songs for countless artists as well, on their upcoming record.

In recent news, AJ McLean also gave few hints regarding BSB having a joint tour with female supergroup Spice Girls for their 20th anniversaries.

According to Pop Crush, AJ revealed in an interview that they are heavily considering the idea of having a joint tour as it was something that "has been bouncing around for the past year and a half."
