New rumors surrounding "Godzilla Resurgence" have suggested that the new film will feature the monster it its "most terrifying" form.

Initial reports claimed that the movie would be vastly different than the 2014 American-made "Godzilla" movie, which was largely panned by Japanese fans, although there's no news of the plot just yet.

"Fans on internet forum Hayabusa had comments such as 'Did he get fat?' Others described him as 'out of shape', with either 'no neck' or one 'like an American football athlete," according to the report from Daily Mail.

The monster in "Godzilla Resurgence," which is not connected to the sequel of the 2014 reboot, is said to be the largest among all the movies in the franchise.

"According to the producer Toho, the 29th entry of Godzilla will be the largest monster ever in the series, measuring 118.5 meters (390 feet) in height," the report as shared by Wall Street Journal said.

Initial plot rumors speculated that "Godzilla Resurgenge" would be regenerated from a nuclear attack from man's use of nuclear weapons. The monster will be awash in predominantly red and black color, which is a departure from the usual green or gray hues.

Based on the report of Youth Health Magazine, "directors Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi vowed to bring Godzilla to his horror roots."

Unlike "Godzilla Resurgence," the first film's plot focuses more on the Japan's history when their vessel strayed into a US nuclear bomb-testing area in March 1954.

Prof. William Tsutsui said in Live Science that "The original movie was 'serious and somber.' It was full of implicit criticism of the United States and unfettered nuclear testing."

"Resurgence had previously announced that CG technology will be applied on the movie to create the 'most terrifying' Godzilla ever," noted Latino Post.

"Godzilla Resurgence" is the first film since 2004's "Godzilla: Final Wars." It is set to open in theaters across Japan on July 29 this year. No news yet as to the plot as well as the release date overseas.
