'Scandal' Season 5 Spoilers: New Gladiator Marcus Walker Declares War In Promo Teaser

Previous "Scandal" season 5 spoilers hint of major changes among main characters. Just how big these changes will be?

Based on the latest "Scandal" season 5 return promo trailer, it looks like things are going up a notch.

The 30-second video featured each of the remaining members of the Olivia Pope and Associates expressing their readiness for the battle they are about to get into.

The biggest take away in the teaser is Cornelius Smith Jr.'s Marcus Walker, who in the clip said, "This is war."

Marcus Walker is the latest addition to the Gladiators. Cornelius Smith Jr's character appeared in an earlier season as a guest star and was promoted as a regular this fifth season. In previous "Scandal" season 5 spoilers, he was described as someone shady and his alliance is yet to be confirmed.

"Marcus is someone who will continue to fight for justice - whether it's going to be for the Gladiators or against the Gladiators, we don't know," Cornelius told Entertainment Weekly in October last year.

"He has his own set of morals, guidelines and principals that don't necessarily bend to other's impressions of him or what he should do."

He also said that Walker and Liv will not always get along.

"It's a fairly new relationship," he added. "In that relationship you have everything that relationships have: Times where they get along, times where they don't see eye-to-eye, there might be some friction."

The latest "Scandal" season 5 spoilers from Tony Goldwyn, who plays Pres. Fitz Grant, claimed that the main characters have evolved a lot, thus the latest teaser video.

"Everybody has evolved into the next phase of their lives," Goldwyn said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last week. "Fitz is unfortunately alone without Mellie [Bellamy Young], without Olivia, and sort of without Cyrus [Jeff Perry] in the sense that the trust between Cyrus and Fitz is broken. Cyrus is still working for him, but it's a troubled situation, so Abby [Darby Stanchfield] is taking up that slack in terms of who he leans on, but Fitz is very much alone - the guy alone on the top of the hill."

"Scandal" season 5 returns on Feb. 11 with the episode titled "It's Hard Out Here for a General."
