Huawei P9 Release Date: Chinese Tech Company Eyeing For ‘Post-MWC 2016’ Debut; Leak Reveals Specs
The upcoming Huawei P9 might come out in March, in line with previous rumored release date.
Recent report suggests that Huawei's next flagship device will come out in four variants. It is being said that P9 Lite, P9 Max, and P9 will be more budget-friendly. GSM Arena reported.
While the other unnamed P9 variant will be "feature-enhanced P9" with "unique mobile capabilities," NDTV cited from the report.
The fourth variant is expected to feature higher RAM, internal storage and display resolution. Also, it will boast better camera sensors.
"It is rumoured to sport a dual lens with dual sensor configuration featuring 12-megapixel sensor. The camera on the fourth model is expected to feature additional camera tricks such as post-capture refocus, simulated aperture adjustment, and other filter options," NDTV wrote.
According to Venture Beat, the upcoming Huawei P9 series will not sport a QHD display. Thus far, Huawei Nexus 6P is remains to be the only flagship to feature such display.
On the other hand, Huawei P9 Max has been spotted on AnTuTu. The benchmarking tool revealed that it packs a massive 6.8inch screen display with 1080p screen as AnTuTu detected 1,600 x 2,560px resolution.
Underneath will be Kirin 950 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, GSM Arena reported.
Interestingly, the Kirin 950 processor is currently the second best chipset among Android devices next to Apple's A9 chipset according to the latest AnTuTu test, Tech Times reported.
On the above mentioned AnTuTu test, the Kirin 950 running on Huawei Mate 8 scored 92,746. Kirin 950 chipset has four cores of A72 clocked at 2.3 GHz and another four cores of A53 clocked at 1.8 GHz processors.
Though leaks have been ramping up about the Huawei P9, its release date won't be imminent as anticipated.
GSM Arena stated in a separate report that Huawei will unveil the Huawei P9 series after MWC 2016, meaning a "post-MWC 2016" standalone event will be held.
