‘Batman’ Star Christian Bale Learned To Play Drums For ‘The Big Short’; Details Revealed!
Is there anything that this acclaimed actor cannot do perfectly?
He has starred and perfected his role as "Batman" in filmmaker Chris Nolan's trilogy adaption, and now it was reported that Christian Bale was able to learn to play the drums in just two weeks.
Christian Bale, who is widely known to have portrayed the "Dark Knight" aka "Batman," was said to have learned to play the double-bass drums in preparation for his leading role in his recent movie, "The Big Short," Lamb Goat revealed.
Fans would be familiar with his background as one of the many impressive methodist actors in the film industry, and this is only bolstered further by the fact that the "Batman" actor prepped himself to learn the instrument by listening to Pantera and Mastodon.
When Christian Bale was asked about his preparation in learning the double-bass drums for a brief moment in the film, "The Big Short," the acclaimed actor said that the experience was "a beautiful crash course," Loud Wire reported.
"Yes, yes, yes," Christian Bale stated in the interview. "It was a wonderful crash course. Double-kick drum, Pantera "By Demons Be Driven" - a fantastic song to begin with."
"This is how Mike Burry unwound. This is actually how he calmed down. He would listen to it all day long in his headphones - and not just that; Mastodon as well. But his brain is on fire so much that death metal calms him. He's a very, very different individual to most of us."
Blabbermouth reported that the renowned actor sought the guidance of Scott Wittenburg, who was known to teach drums at the Musicians Institute and a member of Zen Robbi.
When asked how he got involved in the film, "The Big Short," Wittenburg told Pitchfork that he has been "teaching the heavy metal class in California for about 10 years."
"Well, I've been teaching the heavy metal class at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California for about 10 years," Wittenburg explained. "And Paramount Pictures called the school, asking if my boss had any guys he could refer."
"He gave a few names out, and I guess based off my metal background and teaching the metal class, I was the guy."
