Xiaomi Mi 5 News: Key Specs That Makes The Upcoming Flagship Hard To Beat
The most anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5 has been confirmed to arrive next month packing the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Liwan Jiang, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President of Xiaomi announced on Weibo that the flagship device will debut on Feb. 8.
Reportedly, the Xiaomi Mi 5 appeared on Geekbench packing an impressive specs and features. For one, Xiaomi flagship smartphones are one of the best choices out there. However, its availability is limited to selected regions.
Going by the listed specs, as already confirmed by the Chinese tech's executives, it runs on Snapdragon 820 paired with 3GB of RAM. But recent reports claim that it will arrive in two internal storage variants of 3GB/16GB and 4GB/64 GB, Android Headlines reported.
Xiaomi Mi 5 scored on Geekbench with 1,927 points in the single-core benchmark test, and 5,123 points in the multi-core test.
It is expected to come out in 5.2inch screen display with full HD resolution resulting to 565ppi, and a 2.5D glass back covering. Camera-wise, there will be a16MP shooter on the back and an 8MP front snapper.
It will support USB Type-C interface, QuickCharge, and NFC. The phone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Xiaomi MIUI 7 on top of it, according to IB Times.
In addition to the powerful chipset, it will be the first Android device to come out in the market adopting Apple's Force Touch or 3D touch pressure sensitivity technology.
Among its first features, it will also house Qualcomm's Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Tech Times described it as "they do not need buttons or sensors to function, not to mention that they can be placed under a device's screen."
NDTV Gadgets added that with the hype on the upcoming device, Xiaomi anticipates an outpouring sale of the Xiaomi Mi 5 when released. As a matter of fact, the company guarantees prospective buyers that they can sustain the huge demand.
