'Daredevil' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Executive Producer Promises More Heroes In Costume
"Daredevil" season 1 introduced Matt Murdock just when he was about to enter the world of crime fighting. Like in the comic books, the Man Without Fear appeared in his television debut in a black outfit. It wasn't until the end of Season 1 that Matt Murdock donned his recognizable red costume, and now it seems that he won't be the only one to do that in Season 2.
"Daredevil" co-executive producer Doug Petrie recently confirmed at a TCA press conference that Elodie Yung's Elektra will sport a version of her iconic costume, although it might be altered to appear more realistic.
"I think, what we were thinking - first and foremost - were two questions. One was what looks cool? How much do we love the comics and can we do that?" Petrie said in a statement published by ComicBook.com. "And, then also, in terms of bringing Elodie in and her martial arts training - which is so evident in what she does and who she is as a character."
"What would you really fight in? What would protect you? And, also Elektra isn't just about protection. She's a little bit of a stylist, so we threw all that into the mix."
According to showrunner Marco Ramirez, Elektra won't be the only hero who gets in on the costume action in "Daredevil" season 2.
"Anything like a comic book costume, to us, a fun part of the challenge is making it organically feel part of the world or the tapestry of the world that makes it seem like season one," Ramirez added. "So, will people be wearing kick ass costumes in this show? Yes. Yes, everybody does - we promise! But, that said, we wanted to make it feel as organic and grounded as possible."
Fans are already excited to get a glimpse of their favorite heroes in full costume. They'll just have to wait until "Daredevil" season 2 premieres on Netflix on March 18.
