PlayStation Network Status Update Angers Sony, PS4 Fans? Snoop Dog To Make The Big Switch?
The Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) has been unstable since December, a status that doesn't augur well for the company and the multitude of PS4 users.
This was confirmed by the Independent, which reported last Jan. 5 that PSN "buckled down for the first time in 2016."
The Sony PlayStation Network status page revealed that the outage affected all of its major services, as the network was "experiencing issues."
The page also disclosed that the issue affected all of the company's platforms, including the PlayStation 3 and 4, as well as its web services.
Sony, however, assured users that its "engineers were working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
The company's woes started during the Christmas season when players complained that they couldn't log into the system.
Gamers need to access the PSN in order to play games online, and at the same time, use other features such as videos and its play store.
On Jan. 12, the Express reported on the problematic status of the PlayStation Network, saying that players were once again experiencing difficulties accessing the online service.
It was however uncertain what was causing the latest problem, although there were indications that the previous outage was not related to a DDOS attack.
Sony then announced that it would be extending the PS Plus and video rentals, although the company still has to release an update on this proposal.
Perhaps unaware of the PlayStation Network status updates released by Sony, rapper Snoop Dog has reportedly threatened to trade his Xbox for a PS4, according to Forbes.
This developed after Microsoft's Xbox Live went out of service for several hours that night, creating a backlash among angry gamers who couldn't log in to the service.
The popular hip-hip artist took to his Instagram account to express his displeasure, telling Microsoft founder Bill Gates to "fix your **** man."
Players are hoping that the next PlayStation Network status update would have good news for them.
