As an international human rights lawyer and wife of George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin is determined to continue the causes which she believes are worth fighting for, latest news revealed.

Despite not considering herself a celebrity, the 37-year-old London-based barrister stated that she "thinks she's doing it right" especially now with her battle for client Mohamed Nasheed, the former president of Maldives who is now in prison.

In an interview with NBC News, as shared by Us Weekly, the British-Lebanese lawyer exclaimed that using fame for certain causes actually comes "with a certain responsibility."

"And you know, I think I'm exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work," the Oxford-educated attorney noted. "And engaging with the media on issues that I think are important."

Meanwhile, the gorgeous wife of George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin, gave out her thoughts about celebrities who are using their fame for good reasons.

"I think it's wonderful celebrities would choose to spend their time or energy or, you know, the spotlight that they have to raise awareness about these causes," she said. "I don't really see myself in the same way because I'm still doing the same job that I used to do before. So, if there's more attention paid for whatever reason ... then I think it's good."

Meanwhile, when it comes to the situation in Nasheed's country, she pointed out that "Democracy is dead in the Maldives."

"I mean, literally, if there were an election now there would be no one to run against the president," Amal Alamuddin explained about the latest news. "Every opposition leader is either behind bars or being pursued by the government through the courts."

Her decision to be on Nasheed's side was motivated by the fact that "I was inspired by his leadership on climate justice, his leadership on human rights and his commitment to that."

With Amal Alamuddin's "stressful job," just like in this latest news, George Clooney is supporting her since he knows that "she's doing the right thing and she's doing it for the right reasons," according to ET Online.
