Jon Bernthal To Play Frank Castle In His Own Spinoff Series: 'The Punisher;' Details Released!

Jon Bernthal is going to play Frank Castle again in another series. This time, he will star in his own Netflix show, "The Punisher," a spinoff of "Daredevil."

According to Variety, Netflix is already eyeing the actor for "The Punisher" even though he has yet to appear on the 2nd season of the current Marvel series, "Daredevil," set to launch on March 18.

If "The Punisher" pushes through after "Daredevil," it will mark the sixth marvel series on Netflix.

Back in October 2015, Jon Bernthal explained his take on the character of Frank Castle (also known as "The Punisher").

"The level of talent from the creators and the cast and the unbelievable crew, it's such an honor to be a part of," he said, during the San Diego Comic Con.

"They set the bar so enormously high," the former "Walking Dead" cast member added. "It's the first time for me sort of coming onto something that's so wonderful. I've always been there from the beginning and been a part of that culture from the beginning."

Moreso, the actor mentioned that he understands the responsibility that comes with playing the role of the Marvel character, admitting that he felt the pressure from avid Marvel fans.

"It's an honor and a responsibility, and the pressure is on," he said. "These guys are no nonsense and they're really, really wonderful at what they do."

"It's an iconic character who people care an enormous amount about," the actor added.

Bernthal also acknowledged the impact that his character might have on different people.

"People in law enforcement and the military - this is a character who resonates really strongly [to them]. That's no-nonsense to me," he quipped. "I know a lot of people really want us to get this right, and all I can say is the people around me are really wonderful, and I'm just trying to keep up with them."

Since then, fans have been highly anticipating Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle.
