Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson And Rupert Grint Remember 'Harry Potter' Co-Star Alan Rickman
"Harry Potter" alumni, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have each paid tribute to actor, Alan Rickman, who played the role of Professor Severus Snape in the phenomenal film franchise.
Rickman, who played iconic roles in other films like Hans Gruber in "Die Hard" and Harry in "Love Actually," died Thursday, Jan. 14, after a brief battle with cancer.
Following the sad news of Alan Rickman's death, "Harry Potter" stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint took to social media to express their grief and to pay tribute to the actor.
"Alan Rickman is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors I will ever work with," Radcliffe wrote on his Google+ account. "He is also one of the loyalest and most supportive people I've ever met in the film industry. He was so encouraging of me both on set and in the years post-Potter. I'm pretty sure he came and saw everything I ever did on stage both in London and New York."
The actor also added that Rickman was "extremely kind, generous, self-deprecating and funny" contrary to the often villainous roles he played in movies.
Meanwhile, Watson revealed what she will miss most about Alan Rickman on her Facebook account.
"I'm very sad to hear about Alan today," she wrote. "I feel so lucky to have worked and spent time with such a special man and actor. I'll really miss our conversations. RIP Alan. We love you."
Grint also shared his condolences to the late actor's family and friends, adding that he felt "devastated" by the news of his death.
"I am devastated to hear about the passing of Alan Rickman," the young actor said in an official statement. "I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him on numerous occasions."
"Even though he has gone, I will always hear his voice. My thoughts are with his friends and family at this time," he added.
Aside from Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, other "Harry Potter" actors also paid tribute to Alan Rickman, including twins James and Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis and Evanna Lynch. "Harry Potter" author, J.K. Rowling, also shared her message of sadness over Alan Rickman's passing.
