Blade 4 News: Wesley Snipes Claims 'Possibility' Of Another Installment; 'Trinity' Director Not Involved
Is Marvel secretly developing "Blade 4"? according to franchise star Wesley Snipes, there's a "strong possibility" of another installment happening.
Snipes confirmed at last year's San Diego Comic-Con that he was in talks with Marvel Studios about another installment in the vampire action franchise.
"It's a topic of conversation. It's inescapable. They have their agenda, we have ours, and we're both moving at an accelerated pace to create magic," Snipes, 53, told IGN. We'll see if it all matches up. There's a strong possibility, but if not we have another project that's going to stand toe to toe with Blade."
While Snipes' claims are still yet to be confirmed, its certain that "Blade" writer and "Blade: Trinity director David S. Goyer won't be part of it.
"I'm not involved with it," Goyer said in a statment published by Hitfix. "I don't know to what extent Marvel really has been working on that or not. I can tell you I was with ["Blade 2" director] Guillermo del Toro today and we were talking about it, and he's heard nothing about it either."
"So if Marvel's working on it, they're not working on it with us, which is perfectly fine," he added. "I'm not sure that I would do a 'Blade' film again."
When asked if he had spoken to Wesley Snipes since "Trinity, Goyer said, "No, no. "We've never spoken again."
Many are wondering if Marvel should push through with another installment since "Trinity" failed to connect with audiences and performed even worse at the box office. Production was apparently a nightmare too, according to cast member Patton Oswalt.
"It was just one of those; it was a very troubled production," Patton told A.V. Club. "Wesley [Snipes] was just f****** crazy in a hilarious way. He wouldn't come out of his trailer, and he would smoke weed all day."
Will Wesley Snipes appear in another "Blade" movie? Stay tuned as updates on "Blade 4" become available.
