What could be that something that Nathan Sykes had to "repay" to former girlfriend Ariana Grande?

It was revealed that the former member of the British boy band The Wanted is going to re-release his single "Over and Over Again" via a duet with the former star of Nickelodeon's TV series "Victorious."

It can be recalled that the two dated in 2013 but decided to go separate ways after a few months of being together.

Based on the account of The Sun Online's source, the collaboration is somehow a special gesture.

"Nathan sang on Ariana's first album so she felt it was only fair to repay the favour - even though they aren't together anymore," the unnamed insider shared about the new project together of Nathan Sykes and ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande.

It was noted that "The track is believed to have been written about their short relationship which lasted a few months before they split in December 2013."

Meanwhile, the source further dished that both artists never lost care for each other.

"Nathan and Ariana always cared for each other and the main reason they broke up was that their careers made it impossible to see one another," the informant said. "They lost touch for a while but they've recently been chatting again while they each record new albums."

On the other hand, MTV claimed that "it appears these exes are A-OK with each other - so much so, in fact, that they've decided to work together again."

The speculations about their anticipated duet started to make headlines when the "Kiss Me Quick" singer tweeted about coming up with a new version of "Over and Over Again."

"So you know I said January was going to be an interesting month," he posted on Twitter on Jan. 8.

"I have some news ... There's another version of #OverAndOverAgain with a very special feature," he shared an hour after his last post.

In the meantime, Nathan Sykes' former girlfriend Ariana Grande posted this two days later, "from the heat of night to the break of day. I'll keep you safe & hold you forever. #OverAndOverAgain."
