Stephen Colbert Late Show: Host Fools Olivia Munn's Mom That She Is Engaged To Aaron Rodgers
Olivia Munn is dispelling rumors regarding her engagement with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers but Stephen Colbert made yet another prank on his late show, according to Time. The host texted Munn's mom using her own cellphone, congratulating her mom for the engagement news.
It's been a week that Olivia Munn has been trying to shut down the rumors that she's already engaged with her boyfriend. "It's just some random magazine decided to stay it one day," Munn said about the speculation during her appearance at "The Late Show," where Stephen Colbert is the host. "I didn't think most people would listen to it and believe it."
In fact, Munn admitted that earlier this week she took it to her Instagram account that one of the people who actually fell for the rumors that she is set to marry Rodgers was her very own mother. "That's when it got too much for me. My mom believes everything," Munn said on Thursday night. "The only way I knew how to dispel the rumors, was to use my mother and her text conversation with me." Munn read the whole conversation on the show, while the host was listening. "If I was engaged, I promise you'd be like the 8th person to know. Maybe 9th. But definitely way before the Internet," Munn said to her mom via text when she was asked why she [her mom] had to know about the engagement over the Internet, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Just when everything on the interview went smoothly, Colbert then proceeded to lend Munn's mobile phone and he immediately text Munn's mom. "Kim Colberto here. So happy for the engagement!" the text says. Munn yelled no but it was too late for her as he already hit the send button. Her mom got confused with the text message with her reply that reads: "Hey, Olivia, did u sent m e this text, I don't know what u mean..."
Nevertheless, Olivia Munn had a great time with Stephen Colber at "The Late Show."
