Ellen DeGeneres, Portia DeRossi Adopted A New Baby? Host Finally Feels ‘Like A Mother’

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi just got a new baby - but it's not what people think!

The Emmy Award-winning host announced that she and her wife just adopted a dog named Kid and it has helped them experience parenthood.

"I have not talked about this yet, but we have a new puppy," DeGeneres announced on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" last Thursday.

"Portia and I got a puppy and his name is Kid, so now we have a kid. Yep. I mean, he is absolutely adorable."

The daytime talk show host added that they adopted Kid so that rumors of their own baby could finally end.

"I named him Kid because, you know, people . . . there have been rumors forever," she continued. "'When are you and Portia gonna have a kid?' So, now I can say we have a Kid. So it can just stop."

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi love their new puppy but there's one thing they don't like is adjusting to Kid's sleeping habits, according to Refinery69. Like having a newborn baby, the couple reportedly experienced how mothers with new babies felt like during the first few months.

"I'll tell you, what's not cute is to wake up at 11 and 1 and 3 and 5," she complained. "And then 5 is when he's up, up."

As a puppy, he's also very hyperactive.

Kid joins the couple's two other dogs, Augie and Wolf. They're also helping him acclimate to the family.

The two dogs are reportedly "doing great with him - they're really teaching him a lot."

"It really makes me appreciate what it's like to be a mother," she added, jokingly. "Because, like, I'm trying to hold a puppy while I'm trying to make coffee. And I can't do anything. He doesn't let me do anything."

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi posted a photo of the little puppy on Instagram, eliciting squeals from fans.
