New Apple iMac 2016 Release Date Revealed? Complete Round Up On Specs And Rumours

Apple iMac 2016 release date is already being questioned by Apple fans.

However, it has not been long since the iMac was updated. Apple launched the 21.5-inch iMac with 4K Retina display along with the 27-inch iMac last October.

None of the iMacs received external design changes and continue to offer the same "ultra-thin" slim-bodied design and fully laminated display that was introduced in 2012, MacRumor.com reported.

Similar to the MacBook Pro, Apple's iMac 2016 release date is expected to be impacted with Intel's chip delays.

Currently, Apple's high-end models are already using the Skylake processors while the lower end models still survive on the Broadwell chips.

Since the iMac lineup was recently updated in October 2015, experts believe that the new Apple iMac release date may occur only somewhere in late 2016, Macworld UK claimed.

As of the moment, Intel does not have any plans to make Skylake chips that are desktop class and come with integrated Iris or Iris Pro graphics that are more suitable for lower end iMac. Since there are no prospective chips for lower-end iMacs, Apple's any further plans of upgrading its processors seems impossible.

Moreover, Intel is expected to release its upgraded Kaby Lake processors only in late 2016. Kaby Lake processor's compatibility with lower end iMacs also still remain debatable resulting in delays in the launch of the new processors from Intel. Thus, unless the launch of any new chips is confirmed, any news on getting updated iMac in 2016 remains questionable.

Apart from the chipset, there are also rumors that the next generation Apple iMac may not have the non-Retina 21.5-inch models during its release date as hardware price for all-Retina lineup has cascaded down considerably, iMac Macrumors reported.
