First 'Glee' Star Mark Salling Now 'Backstreet Boys' Member Nick Carter Got Arrested For Battery
"Glee" star Mark Salling was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for child pornography in late December.
Now it seems that another singer has been caught in a legal bind. Basketstreet Boys member Nick Carter reportedly got arrested for battery in Florida.
TMZ reported that cops took the "Backstreet Back" singer into custody in Key West after a scuffle broke out at the Hog's Breath Saloon.
According to an eyewitness, the musician was involved in the fight inside the famous bar before police came in and broke the fight.
Nick Carter was said to be arrested and booked for misdemeanor battery. Documents also showed "singer" as his occupation. His friend, Michael Rae Papayans, was taken into custody that night for the same offense as well.
As if being arrested was not enough, an "uncomfortable" video of the incident was released showing the "I Want It That Way" singer shouting at the cops that he was a famous singer.
Perez Hilton reported that he just "wanted a few drinks so that he can perform in the bar."
"I wanted to sing!" Carter said. "That's all I wanted to do. I wanted to go on the microphone and sing."
CNN later reported that he and Papayans paid the $1500 bail before getting released on Thursday. Unfortunately, the pop star's publicist failed to comment on the issue.
"The truth will come out," he reportedly told reporters after his arraignment.
There was more to the fight than earlier reported, according to TMZ. The "Dancing With The Stars" contestant reportedly described everything that happened during the incident to the police.
Despite the recent scandal, Carter and his wife, Lauren Kitt, are expecting their first child together. They came out with the news last November.
"They are so happy and overjoyed," a source reportedly told US Weekly back then. "They've been trying and waiting for such a long time."
"My wife and I are happy to personally announce that we are pregnant," they later confirmed the news to E! "It has been our dream to have a family together and we cannot wait to welcome our first child into the world."
It looks like pregnant Lauren Kitt isn't too happy about Nick Carter being arrested last Wednesday.
