‘Penny Dreadful’ Season 3 Trailer: Ethan Gives In To ‘Feral Urges’? Vanessa Finds New Cohorts?

Based on the released trailer of "Penny Dreadful" season 3, worse scenarios and certain surprises are expected to take place as it premieres on May 1.

According to AV Club, a turning point in Ethan Chandler's life might just happen in the upcoming season.

"After spending two seasons trying to fight his feral urges, it looks like Josh Hartnett's Ethan Chandler might give in and enjoy the lupine ride in the upcoming season of Showtime's horror drama," the report claimed.

The outlet continued by saying, "This trailer for season 3 of 'Penny Dreadful' also suggests the world might be expanding, as we get plenty of images that go beyond the usual gaslit streets of Victorian London, not unlike last year's journey to The Cut-Wife's home."

When it comes to Eva Green's Vanessa Ives, it was noted that the heroine's support group will expand as she "signed up some mysterious new cohorts for this go-round."

It was revealed as well that this time, Patti Lupone will be taking a different role as she now becomes "Vanessa's unconventional therapist."

On the other hand, Tech Times reported that Lupone, who used to portray the role of Cut-Wife in the previous season, will already be known as Dr. Seward in "Penny Dreadful" season 3.

While the site mentioned about Dr. John Seward of Bram Stoker's "Dracula," who was actually "one of Lucy's suitors who went on to become a vampire hunter," it was emphasized that "the only connection between the two characters is possibly their last names."

In the meantime, it was disclosed that the "Penny Dreadful" season 3 trailer also gave a glimpse of Ethan's return to London while the possibility that the new season will be dealing with "more vampires, similar to the series' first season" came about following an Instagram post that "shows a group of actors as vampires hanging around the show's set."
