Celebs React To ‘Teen Wolf’ Star Charlie Carver’s ‘I Am Gay’ Admission! Praised By Co-Star

Charlie Carver admits he's gay in Instagram posts.

"Teen Wolf" star Charlie Carver recently came out as gay in several Instagram posts and fans couldn't be any more supportive.

Carver, who is best known for his role in the MTV series as well as "The Leftovers" and "Desperate Housewives," decided to finally comment on his sexuality earlier this week.

He had been taking on gay roles for TV series but had never publicly talked about his sexual preference in public.

In his series of posts, he admitted that he had been scared to come out at first because he feared that he would be "limiting [himself] to a type, to a perception with limits that I was not professionally comfortable with."

"I did not want to be defined by my sexuality," he revealed in the third part of his five-part confession. "Sure, I am a proud gay man, but I don't identify as a Gay man, or a GAY man, or just gay. I identify as a lot of things, these various identifications and identities taking up equal space and making up an ever-fluid sense of Self."

He added that he feels more "excited" now that he finally admitted that he was gay, but had to clarify that his twin brother, Max Carver, was "just as cool" for being straight.

"So now, let the record show this - I self-identify as gay... I owe it to myself, more than anything, to be who I needed when I was younger," he continued.

Following "Teen Wolf" star Charlie Carver's confession that he is gay, his "Desperate Housewives" co-star sent him a message of support through social media.

"Dear Charlie," Felicity Huffman wrote on Facebook for her on-screen son.  "I love you. I admire you. I applaud you. You make me happy to be human. You make me proud to be an actor. Love your TV Mom, Lynette. And your real life friend, Flicka."

The "Teen Wolf" official Twitter page shared following his confession.

"We love you more than you know," it said.

His twin brother also showed his support to his brother on Twitter. Youtube star Tyler Oakley said he was proud of the actor. His "Teen Wolf" co-star Holland Roden and "Reign" star Adelaide Kane shared their love for the actor as well.
