Duggars Update: '19KAC' To Return On Air? Jill And Jessa's Spinoff Show Didn't Sell?
Fans of the Duggar family have surely missed Jim Bob, Michelle, and their brood after "19 Kids and Counting" was cancelled last year following Josh Duggar's molestation scandal. And now, TLC is rumored to bring back the family for a reality show.
"Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager talked about the Duggars earlier this week while serving on a Television Critics Association panel," Star Pulse wrote in a news update.
"She explained that while the network had 'challenges' with the Josh Duggar situation, the audience 'still cares' about the girls, so they are 'still talking, about future episodes," the update continued.
Does this mean that "19 Kids and Counting" will be back on air and Jill and Jessa Duggar's spinoff mini-series will not be renewed?
Last December, the network premiered a spinoff show focused on two of Josh Duggar's sisters and molestation victims, Jill and Jessa Duggar, entitled "Jill and Jessa: Counting On."
Did the spinoff do badly in ratings that TLC would rather bring in the whole family after Josh Duggar's scandal to earn more viewers?
Quite the opposite. According to a report, "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" did well in ratings, prompting TLC to realize that viewers still cared about the family even after Josh Duggar's scandals.
"The network already copped to the fact the decision to cancel '19 Kids and Counting' cost them about 19 million during its second quarter," Huffington Post reported.
"Because of that kind of loss, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the network hasn't cut ties with the family and is apparently considering to work with them again."
Amid rumors of their possible TV comeback, there is yet to be any update about whether Josh and his wife, Anna, will be part of the Duggars' TLC return or not. It has been rumored that the couple has fallen apart after the molestation and Ashley Madison's cheating scandal.
