Spice Girls Tour 2016 Denied By Victoria Beckham? Posh Spice Slams Reunion Reports!
The Spice Girls tour this 2016 was reportedly denied by Victoria Beckham. According to OK! Magazine, a rep for Posh Spice slammed reports that the former singer has finally agreed to be part of the reunion.
"She is not - no," said a spokesperson for the wife of David Beckham. "[It's] just the usual, made up, nonsense!"
The clarification came amid numerous reports about the highly anticipated concert series. Express UK reported about how one of the group's members, Scary Spice Mel B, tried to convince Victoria Beckham, to join the concert series.
"To be serious, it is our twentieth anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate," the "X-Factor" judge pointed out. "Hopefully something will be happening pretty soon."
"Sporty Spice" Melanie Chisholm was first to explain to The Sun that Victoria Beckham initially declined to be part of the Spice Girls tour this 2016.
The "Asia's Got Talent" judge explained that their former colleague turned fashion entrepreneur and mother-of-four is more focused on things outside of music.
"Victoria has said she doesn't want to perform again, which is understandable," Mel C said. "She fully supports the four of us because we might want to have another go. It's very amicable."
However, Mel C seemingly changed her mind in a new interview with the same publication, wherein she said she would back out of the reunion tour if Victoria Beckham will not join them.
"Mel believes the band has to be the original five-piece and Victoria needs to be involved," an insider revealed. "This means good management, good tour promoters and good sponsorship to maximize revenue."
Rumors about the hit pop quintet's reunion tour came out October of last year, with a report from Rolling Stone claiming that they will be joined by the Backstreet Boys.
"The Spice Girls tour has been this idea bouncing around for the past year and a half," band member AJ McLean said on behalf of the hit 90s group, about the alleged 2016 concert. "It's something we're still talking about."
