'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 10 Spoilers: Pres. Grant To Hit On Abby? Feelings Make POTUS Weak
Will Pres. Fitz Grant be able to move on from Olivia Pope? It will be hard but maybe not as much if there is someone else to help him. Recent "Scandal" season 5 episode 10 spoilers hint that POTUS may have a new apple of the eye.
Reportedly, the show will pick up six months since the event in mid-season finale which aired last Nov. 19. The episode saw Fitz left with nothing but himself after girlfriend Olivia decided to leave the White House and abort their baby. His legal wife, Mellie, is also technically already out of his life as they mutually agreed to separate.
This leaves Abby, his press secretary, as the only woman in his life.
Bellamy Young gave away spoilers for "Scandal" season 5 suggesting that Fitz will turn his attention to the former Gladiator, who also happens to be a friend of Olivia.
"He needs a sounding board, and he doesn't have Mellie, he doesn't have Olivia and he doesn't have Cyrus, because he doesn't trust him anymore," Young told TV Line.
She was also quoted as saying that Fitz will be "transforming" his treatment of Abby because "he needs someone."
A lot of things have changed in Washington since the mid-season finale. Tony Goldwyn said there will be a six-month time jump and almost all main characters have gone their own ways and evolved.
"Everybody has evolved into the next phase of their lives," Goldwyn said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly when asked for "Scandal" season 5 spoilers.
"Fitz is unfortunately alone without Mellie, without Olivia, and sort of without Cyrus [Jeff Perry] in the sense that the trust between Cyrus and Fitz is broken. Cyrus is still working for him, but it's a troubled situation, so Abby [Darby Stanchfield] is taking up that slack in terms of who he leans on, but Fitz is very much alone - the guy alone on the top of the hill."
"Scandal" season 5 episode 10 is titled "It's Hard Out Here for a General" and will air on Feb. 11.
