Samsung Gear S2 Smartwatch With iOS Support Launches New Luxury Models

Samsung launched its latest luxury models of Gear S2 smartwatches in Gold and Platinum. These Tizen-powered smartwatches release will soon be having iOS support by next month.

Alanna Cotton, Vice President of Samsung, revealed that the new Samsung Gear S2 with iOS support will be available in a new 18-Karat Rose Gold Model with ivory coloured leather strap and a Platinum version with a black leather strap, WT Vox noted.

It also stated further that the Samsung will be introducing new watch faces for Samsung Gear S2 smartwatches coming with iOS support.

The new artwork for these watches has been designed by Jean-Michael Basquiat, Jeremyville, Keith Haring and Burton Morris.

Samsung has already made its smartwatches compatible with Android phones running OS 4.4 and above. However, the company has taken a step further and will be making its latest Samsung Gear S2 smartwatches having full iOS support later this year.

Company VP, Alanna Cotton, took the stage at CES 2016 and announced that the Samsung Gear S2 watch is going to be compatible with the iPhone later in Jaunary.

The Samsung Gear S2 has been already attracting a lot of iPhone users with its round face and rotating bezel, said WT Vox.

Motley Fool described Samsung's latest strategy as "a small but significant change in Samsung's wearable tech strategy."

Apart from Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch coming with iOS support, they will also be featuring Samsung's own mobile payment system, Samsung Pay.

This feature will be available with Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic. Samsung Pay gains an added advantage over Apple Pay where the former accepts magnetic cards.

It enables Samsung Pay to work in almost any store unlike Apple Pay, which needs special Apple Machines to be installed for it to work, Phone Arena noted.
