In a report by cleveland.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers have traded their guard Joe Harris to the Orlando Magic. In addition, sources cited that they will also cover the Sacramento Kings' protected 2017 second round pick in the package as well as cash in exchange for the Portlan Trail Blazers' 2020 second round pick.

If you think this is a very lucrative move, there's a reason behind this: reports said that the deal will save Cleveland from luxury tax payments that is worth more or less $3 million as well as it will open up a roster spot. Lastly, Cleveland would have room for those players who would like to opt for a buyout.

A source said that Joe Harris is going to miss six to eight weeks of playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers since he underwent a successful surgery on his right foot in Indianapolis. IN fact, Orlando has already waived him. The 24-year-old player was the 33rd pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

"Obviously with Joe having season-ending surgery, Griff [Cavs GM David Griffin], who is always working, was looking as always to create flexibility for possible opportunities going forward," said coach David Blatt before the Cavs versus the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, in a report by ESPN. "Joe was a real good member of the team. He was a guy we all liked having on our team. A guy I really enjoyed coaching."

"A terrific teammate and a guy with a real future, I believe, in this league," Blatt added. "It's one of those things that you wish it didn't have to happen, but it's understandable under the circumstances why."

With only an average of 2.7 points and shooting 36.9% from 3-point range in 9.7 minutes per game, Joe Harris played in only five games for his second year with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
