Nintendo Celebrates 20th Anniversary With ‘Pokemon Blue And Red’ Pre-Installed On 3DS Bundle
In celebration of Nintendo's 20th anniversary, the gaming company will launch a "Pokemon" themed Nintendo 3DS. The handheld will be pre-installed with "Pokemon Blue" and "Pokemon Red, Polygon reported.
Comic Book added that the Nintendo 3DS Pokemon bundle will arrive on Feb. 27, which coincides the release of "Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow." The bundle will also include Blastoise and Charizard cover plates, and a special Pokémon home menu theme.
In addition, Nintendo will also re-release some of fans' favorite amiibos- Charizard, Jigglypuff, Greninja and Lucario. These amiibos can be purchased on select retailers on Pokémon Day.
As per Pokemon distribution, "Pokémon Omega Ruby," Pokemon Alpha Sapphire," "Pokemon X and "Pokemon Y" players may collect Mew, Darkrai, Arceus and Genesect on GameStop's events throughout the year, Polygon added.
According to Engadget , Ninetndo will also release a 12 full-length "Pokemon" film such as "Pokémon: The First Movie," "Pokémon the Movie 2000" and "Pokémon 3: The Movie" on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon throughout the year. The release will begin this month on Pokémon TV- accessible through Pokemon.com, Roku, Chromecast and Amazon Fire.
Pokemon fans will also see the release of "Pokemon Go," the augmented reality game being developed by Nintendo, The Pokemon Company and Niantic. The upcoming card trading game for Android and iOS is still in beta phase and will arrive later this year, Latino Post reported.
"For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world," according to John Hanke, founder of Niantic, as shared by HNGN.
