Pia Wurtzbach's Boyfriend Is The Philippine President? Miss Universe Release Statement!
Pia Wurtzbach's boyfriend is rumored to be the President of the Philippines. However, a report from Manila Bulletin has clarified matters after Miss Universe 2015 herself released a statement.
In an interview with the hosts of 95.5 PLJ in New York, she denied that she is dating Honorable Benigno Aquino III.
"That's so... no," said the 26-year-old beauty queen. "No, that's so funny."
The winner of the recently concluded pageant then explained how she and the bachelor President know each other.
"I met him because I was a contributing writer for the Lifestyle section of a newspaper in the Philippines so I met him in a few social occasions some time," she detailed.
Even though she is not closing her doors on possibly dating someone, Pia Wurtzbach said having a boyfriend would be more challenging since she won the prestigious beauty pageant.
"I think that would be very difficult with my, you know, I haven't even had like a full eight-hour sleep," she pointed out. "It's been very busy. What more [having] a guy?"
Us Weekly also reported about how President Benigno Aquino's sister, Kris Aquino, spoke up about the rumored romance.
Filipina TV personality and political scion admitted that she and her other sisters like Wurtzbach for their 55-year-old sibling. However, Kris Aquino pointed out that the young beauty seemed too focused on Miss Universe to accommodate her brother.
"I don't think she liked Noy," she said. "I think she entertained him, but the thing is, you can tell from her character [that she's] single-minded."
Amid rumors that he is Pia's special someone, the Office of President Benigno Aquino issued a statement on her win. The statement was reported by Perez Hilton, which even mentioned the gaffe involving the wrong announcement of Miss Colombia as Miss Universe.
"The whole country unites in celebration over Ms. Pia Wurtzbach's coronation as Miss Universe in the 2015 pageant in Las Vegas, USA," he said.
"Throughout her journey, Ms. Wurtzbach showcased to the world the characteristic beauty, intelligence, and elegance for which Filipinas are renowned," the statement added. "In the first few moments of the original announcement, she showed tremendous poise and control, and even more tremendous graciousness when the real verdict was finally announced."
Despite the latest news, rumors about who could be Pia Wurtzbach's boyfriend are still present.
