Huawei Mate 8 Global Release Date Set At CES 2016;Nexus 6P New Color Variants Unveiled!

The global release date of Huawei Mate 8 is still unknown but the device made its successful debut at he Consumer Electronics 2016.

Last month, the Kirin 950-powered flagship device went on sale in China. Reportedly, the device sold like hotcakes when offered to different retailers.

Huawei's CEO Yu Chengdong confirmed this news stating that the company has already sold over a million units, GSM Arena  reported.

Huawei plans to extend the Mate 9's success outside its homeland. The smartphone debuted at CES 2016 as an introduction to the global market. With that being said, it will be available in 30 countries including the UK, although it's still unknown if the Huawei 8 global release will be simultaneous.

 "With the Mate 8, we have delivered a device that meets the needs of a new style of business. With this fast, impeccably designed smartphone, users can work more efficiently and free up valuable time to spend with friends, family and on personal pursuits. The Mate 8 is the ultimate high-end smartphone." Huawei Presiden Ken Ho  said at CES 2016.

Though an exact global release date for Huawei Mate 8 is yet to be announced, Huawei is expected to launch the Mate 9 and Honor 5X in India on Jan. 28. The company already has sent out invites for the media hosting event, India Today reported.

Launched first in China, Huawei Mate 8 sports a massivea 6-inch high contrast FULL HD display. It is the first flagship device to run on Huawei's latest chipset Kirin 950, which equals to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820.

Underneath, it is powered by four cores of A72 clocked at 2.3 GHz and another four cores of A53 clocked at 1.8 GHz processors.

Camera-wise, it has Sony 16 mp IMX298 rear camera and an 8 mp on the front.

As quoted from Ken Ho, the phone is a "perfect balance between high performance and long battery life." The Huawei Mate 8 packs a 4,000mah battery and supports fast charging feature,Indian Express added.

Additional features include "Super Hands-Free 3.0" technology, 120 degree audio pick-up range, directional noise reduction mode, and three microphones.

Huawei also announced a new color option of the Nexus 6P. The Gold edition is available in 32GB and G4GB only,The Verge reported.
