Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Wants To Copy A Page From Tony Stark's Book By Building Own Jarvis
Tony Stark - billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist, and fictional. Facebook founder Mark Zuckberg - billionaire, genius, not a playboy, philanthropist, and real-life inspiration.
Tony and Mark are similar in many ways. One thing the Facebook CEO is missing though is his own J.A.R.V.I.S., the artificial intelligence that helps Ironman in many aspects of his life. Maybe not now.
Zuckerberg, who has a net worth of $46 billion, has revealed that he is planning to build a "simple AI" in his own home. He even compared this plan to the Jarvis owned by Ironman.
"My personal challenge for 2016 is to build a simple AI to run my home and help me with my work. You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man," he wrote on his Facebook account.
"I'm going to start by exploring what technology is already out there. Then I'll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home -- music, lights, temperature and so on. I'll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell."
The Facebook CEO added, "I'll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max's room that I need to check on when I'm not with her. On the work side, it'll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively."
The 31-year old said 2016 is a year of invention for him and he is excited to share whatever he will learn from the challenge he set for himself.
"This should be a fun intellectual challenge to code this for myself. I'm looking forward to sharing what I learn over the course of the year."
Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook post garnered 360K likes and 17,467 shares as well as comments commending and wishing the CEO good luck. Comments included things about Ultron, the fictional A.I. Tony Stark created and which tried to wipe out humanity.
One fan even wished him to become Batman because of his latest venture.
When asked by a user where they can get updates regarding his A.I. Project. Zuckerber said:
"I'll post updates here on my profile periodically, so stay tuned! I'm planning on writing an update about once a month, but it'll more likely be whenever I have real progress to share. I'm looking forward to discussing with the community!"
