A Fiesty ‘Wind Flower’: MAMAMOO’s Hwasa Faces 'Attitude Controversy' After Recent ‘Seoul Check-in’ Episode
Does Hwasa really have an attitude problem? The MAMAMOO member recently found herself facing an attitude controversy following the fourth episode of tvN's "Seoul Check-in."
In the fourth episode of "Seoul Check-in," MC Lee Hyori, who just arrived from Jeju Island, meets up with her Refund Sisters co-members Uhm Jung Hwa and MAMAMOO Hwasa. The superstars rendezvoused at Kim Wan Sun's abode.
In the program, as the celebrities were having a drink, Uhm Jung Hwa revealed her sadness about barely meeting MAMAMOO's Hwasa. Jung Hwa admitted, "You (referring to Hwasa) don't even answer my calls because you're busy."
Adding to this, Lee Hyori shared, "Hwasa is a girl who goes to Paris with a luxury bag. She now ignores us because she's a global star. Her senior is Beyoncé, not us."
To defend herself, MAMAMOO's Hwasa disagreed and exclaimed, "No, what are you talking about?"
Alongside her comment, MAMAMOO's Hwasa dismissed her seniors' allegations while waving her hand. Although a supposed joke within the circle of friends, some netizens notably took this as proof of Hwasa's attitude problem.
As per some viewers, MAMAMOO's Hwasa ignored her Korean seniors as she favored "foreign life." Additionally, some viewers also criticized Hwasa for supposedly thinking too highly of herself. This further took a turn for the worse as viewers also judged Hwasa's looks and abilities.
As the controversy went viral, Uhm Jung Hwa released a statement to defend MAMAMOO's Hwasa. Posting on her personal Instagram, Jung Hwa uploaded a photo of herself with Hwasa and revealed her side.
Uhm Jung Hwa's caption is as follows:
"Seoul Check-in. I was so happy to meet Hwasa after a long time, that I say I 'couldn't reach her' to describe that she was always busy. I must have said that I wanted to contact her, but I expressed it differently. Hwasa always answers brightly and calls me, 'Senior.' It's a night where I can hear Hwasa laughing."
To further come to the MAMAMOO member's defense, MooMoos (MAMAMOO's fandom) defended and showed support for Hwasa. Though Uhm Jung Hwa tried to make the situation better, the Hwasa's controversy went on to continue.
